About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at West London NHS Trust. As a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality occupational therapy services to individuals with learning disabilities, their families, and carers.

Our team is committed to delivering person-centered care, focusing on the needs and rights of people with learning disabilities. We strive to reduce health inequalities and improve health outcomes for this population group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessments and interventions for individuals with complex needs, including autism, mental health, and behaviors that may challenge.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring the safety and well-being of service users.
  • Collaborate with staff teams to provide consultancy and support, promoting best practice and evidence-based interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with service users, families, and carers, ensuring their needs and preferences are respected and incorporated into care plans.
Requirements
  • BSc degree in Occupational Therapy and active HCPC registration.
  • Postgraduate education in OT or relevant field, with ongoing CPD in OT and wider healthcare.
  • Minimum 4 years of post-registration experience as an OT, with 2 years in learning disabilities or mental health.
  • Experience of working at master's level or equivalent in OT, with a sound understanding of multidisciplinary team working and clinical governance.
