As the Senior Manager of Practice Areas, you will influence and guide the People strategy for the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) sector.
You will collaborate closely with our Global People Leader and the broader Leadership team to define and implement our Practice Area strategy, develop and execute initiatives to enhance our workforce, and manage the overall people agenda. In this capacity, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the TMT sector, engage with senior stakeholders, and drive our teams to achieve our growth and affiliation objectives. You will establish strong partnerships with stakeholders, develop strategic insights, provide clear recommendations based on data, and create materials that facilitate outcomes.
YOU'RE GOOD AT
In this role, you will focus on three primary areas of responsibility:
Strategic People Planning - In collaboration with Practice Area Leadership, you will develop a comprehensive people strategy for TMT, identifying and driving global initiatives aligned with key themes:
- Gather insights on our workforce and sentiment, and, alongside senior leadership, define initiatives and set measurable targets, working with global teams for execution.
- Oversee team priorities and manage the implementation and tracking of progress through clear KPIs.
- Provide insights and strategic recommendations for resource planning and strategy.
- Oversee the affiliation process in partnership with Regional teams.
- Ensure best practice support for TMT members at critical career junctures.
- Assess capacity and expertise by region and sector, identifying planning gaps.
- Deliver global insights and oversight for Lateral Hire initiatives, collaborating with Regional teams.
- Manage People announcements and innovate communication strategies.
Alumni
- Lead the global Alumni strategy, defining priority initiatives.
- Supervise Regional Alumni Councils and guide relevant teams.
- Facilitate engagement from Regional, Local, or Client teams with Alumni.
- Implement Alumni reporting to enhance transparency and outreach.
- Boost visibility of Alumni in internal and external communications and events.
- Define strategy and drive the evolution of our core internal learning program.
- Oversee content delivery, communications, and event scheduling.
- Utilize internal analysis to innovate and adapt the program based on results and priorities.
- Enhance Expert engagement by identifying opportunities and gaps, collaborating with Sectors and the Global ECT Team to implement best practices.
- Analyze key KPIs and partner with Regions and Sectors to improve career management.
- Monitor Diversity KPIs and derive insights across cohorts and regions.
- Define the agenda and interventions, sharing and embedding best practices.
- Coordinate the development and delivery of a calendar of events with Regional teams.
- With a deep understanding of Practice Area strategic goals, work with senior leaders to establish vision, set agendas, and oversee a large global team for delivery.
- Lead a comprehensive content and logistics team, ensuring effective delivery and budget management.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field is required; MBA is preferred.
- Consulting experience or similar strategic roles is ideal.
- Exceptional storytelling and writing skills, capable of crafting concise, well-structured presentations and memos for senior audiences, along with strong oral communication abilities.
- Robust analytical skills and rigor, able to derive insights from data analysis and manage large datasets effectively.
- Experience in managing substantial budgets and financial systems is preferred.
- People management or mentorship experience is a plus.
- Positive mindset with a self-starter attitude and a focus on solutions.
- Ability to work autonomously and navigate ambiguity, transforming strategic priorities into actionable solutions.
- Collaborative team player with strong networking abilities and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to shape and define a clear agenda for the People team, utilizing data insights to set goals and communicate our ambitions.
- Adept at managing a diverse workload and prioritizing effectively based on goals and potential impact.
- Strong analytical skills to structure, analyze, and interpret data for leadership.
