Job Title: Lead Lawyer

St Albans District Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Lawyer to join our Legal Shared Services team. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-level strategic advice and guidance to senior management, while also supporting the Head of Legal Shared Services in shaping our legal services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert legal advice on property-related projects and assist in agreeing and monitoring performance standards for the service.
  • Discuss and manage workloads with stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Act as deputy to the Head of Legal Shared Services, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Line manage the Practice Management Team and Trainees, ensuring their development and growth.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in property law, with a strong understanding of legal principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide high-level strategic advice.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
