Position Overview

As a key member of our Proseal division, the Senior Electrical Systems Engineer will report directly to the Head of Automation. This role is pivotal in the development, modification, and upkeep of electrical schematic diagrams tailored for packaging machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a technical authority on electrical standards, ensuring adherence to regulations suitable for a global market.
  • Source and select electrical components to fulfill custom project specifications while optimizing standard machinery.
  • Design electrical systems to meet safety and operational objectives.
  • Establish and implement testing protocols to confirm electrical safety and compliance.
  • Create models for electrical panel layouts.
  • Identify and procure components such as sensors, actuators, cables, and switchgear.
  • Ensure proper sizing of cables and protective devices.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification, along with experience in electrical design engineering, ideally within an OEM setting in the food sector.
  • Proficiency in Electrical CAD software, preferably EPLAN.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, servo drive systems, and AC Inverters; familiarity with Mitsubishi control gear is advantageous.
  • Understanding of UL, CSA, and NFPA electrical standards.
  • Expertise in industrial wiring practices, including EMC noise-reduction techniques, cable sizing, and overcurrent device selection.
  • Awareness of Functional Safety and ISO EN standards.
Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite, with minimal travel requirements (up to 5%) for supplier visits and occasional customer interactions.
