About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Healthcare Assistant at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the healthcare team, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
- Assist with patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and providing emotional support.
- Operate audio typing software to transcribe medical records and other documents.
- Use a range of software applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, to support the healthcare team.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English.
- RSA Level 2 or equivalent.
- NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or ICT.
- Auditing Typing Qualification.
- ECDL Qualification or similar.
- Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English to a standard that enables the post holder to carry out the full range of duties and responsibilities of the role effectively.
- Previous experience within a comparable role.
- Previous experience of working within a customer-focused environment.
- Previous experience of audio typing software.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience of working in a similar role within the NHS.
- Previous experience of using RIO and other NHS systems such as Winscribe.
Personal Qualities
- Demonstrable ability to prioritize effectively.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality.
- Ability to use own initiative within the sphere of responsibility.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
