Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Locum Practice Nurse to join our team at Southend Medical Centre. The successful candidate will have experience in primary care and be able to cover maternity leave for 3 days a week.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients registered at the practice, working within their own level of competency and expanding their role as required.
  • Assist GPs and other members of the primary healthcare team, maintaining a high professional standard of nursing care in adherence to practice protocols and policies.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to provide holistic and proactive care to patients.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience of working in a primary healthcare setting.
  • Competence in cervical screening, childhood immunisations, vaccines, staple and suture removal, wound care and experience in SystmOne.

Desirable

  • Experience of Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Stop Smoking, Contraception and Complex Wound Care.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Foundation degree as a Registered Nurse and NMC Registration.
