About Our Retail Trainee Manager Programme
We are seeking talented individuals to join our Retail Trainee Manager Programme, a comprehensive development programme designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to succeed as a retail manager.
What You'll Do
As a Retail Trainee Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of colleagues, managing store operations, and driving sales growth. You will work closely with our experienced managers to develop your skills and knowledge, and will have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles across our Sainsbury's and Argos brands.
Our Programme Structure
Our programme consists of three phases:
Phase 1: Learning and Development
In this phase, you will participate in a focused 6-week learning journey, where you will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to perform a management role. You will attend instructor-led workshops, complete e-learning modules, and participate in practical exercises to develop your skills.
Phase 2: On-the-Job Training
In this phase, you will be assigned to a management role in either a Sainsbury's supermarket, a convenience store, or one of our Argos stores. You will receive training specific to your role and gain practical experience over a span of 12 weeks. Job experts will be on hand to support you, and your line manager will be there to mentor and guide you to deliver the daily and weekly routines expected of our managers.
Phase 3: Leadership Development
In this final phase, you will be expected to take on the full role of a retail manager, while rejoining your cohort for the final 12 weeks of the programme. You will focus on learning and applying the essential behavioral skills required for effective management, including managing performance, giving feedback, and team dynamics.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary, starting from £12.00 per hour, with incremental increases after 6 weeks and upon completion of the programme. You will also receive a range of benefits, including:
