GMP Recruitment is proud to partner with a forward-thinking legal firm in Cheltenham, specialising in a wide range of legal services. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to join their dynamic team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The position is office-based, with a 37.5-hour workweek, and offers a highly competitive salary. This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable firm known for delivering exceptional service to clients.

The ideal candidate must be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 5 years' PQE and possess excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload of residential property sales.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage a range of property matters from initial instruction through to matter conclusion
  • Opening files and progressing matters
  • Providing cost estimates to new clients
  • Engaging in business development activities
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and Solicitors in a professional and timely manner
  • Utilising technical expertise and knowledge to support and mentor the wider team as required

Desired skills and experience:

  • A breadth and depth of residential property experience and capability to handle a varied caseload
  • Ideal candidates will be qualified Solicitors/CILEX with 5 years + PQE (however, this does not preclude those with more or less experience)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • IT literate and proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Outlook, etc.) and experience with case management systems such as Proclaim
  • Commercially aware with a good understanding of business development activities, established contacts/client following desirable
  • A good understanding of compliance and risk
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring team members
