The Role

As a Sales Assistant, you'll play a key role in driving sales performance and delivering exceptional customer service. You'll be an ambassador for the store, supporting the team to deliver an outstanding shopping experience for every customer. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maximising sales opportunities and supporting the team to meet and exceed targets
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases
  • Offering a VIP concierge service to customers, actively contacting them with updates on products and tastings
  • Selling the story, not the discount, and demonstrating a passion for product through in-depth knowledge of our range
  • Taking ownership of wine knowledge, constantly learning about our products to support WSET qualification and confidence in selling
  • Taking accountability and pride in the physical appearance and maintenance of the store
  • Involvement in all operational tasks required for the day-to-day running of the store
  • Continuously identifying opportunities to make improvements and feeding ideas back to the team
  • Ensuring compliance, safety, and legality by following internal policies and completing mandatory training

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Excellent time-management, delegation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service to every customer
  • Self-motivation, ability to thrive when working alone and as part of a team
  • Can-do attitude with a passion for seeing problems through to solutions
  • Adaptability and resilience to meet the ever-changing demands of our business
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Wine knowledge is beneficial, but passion to learn more is essential to pass level 2 WSET wine qualifications
  • Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points
