About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Waste Management Specialist to join our dynamic Nuclear team at AECOM. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality projects and services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Develop and implement effective waste management strategies, including radioactive waste inventory development and waste-led decommissioning strategy development.
  • Conduct technical work and deliver projects across a range of our services, including environmental studies and waste management.
  • Manage tasks and projects, covering technical, quality, and financial management.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Collaborate with top-tier engineers and experts to deliver complex projects, from concept to completion.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in radioactive waste management, with a strong understanding of UK nuclear licensed sites and Site Licence companies.
  • Experience in operating waste management facilities, conducting studies, and developing strategies for decommissioning.
  • Strong consulting and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of environmental permitting and compliance, environmental safety cases, and waste informed decommissioning studies.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic deadline-driven team environment, with a strong sense of commitment and a willingness to learn.
