Your Impact
Become a vital part of the South Gloucestershire Council's Transformation Team during a period of significant change. In this role, you will manage strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing our educational services. Your focus will be on identifying innovative solutions to fulfill our educational responsibilities effectively. By leveraging best practices, you will optimize resource utilization and ensure that our approaches are both efficient and impactful.
As a key member of a high-achieving team, you will spearhead the transformation of council services, facilitating improvements and redesigning educational services to adhere to established timelines.
This position is a 6-month limited term contract available exclusively to current South Gloucestershire Council employees.
Your Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute a statutory service redesign as the project lead
- Champion departmental transformation to enhance outcomes and maximize value
- Conduct research and assess national best practices
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including educational institutions, local authorities, and health organizations
- Present options for service redesign and associated risks to senior management and council members
- Plan and execute approved changes, introducing innovative operational methods

- A relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience
- A proactive self-starter capable of independent work
- Proven experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and risk assessment
- Strategic mindset with strong creativity and teamwork abilities
- Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
- Familiarity with research, development, and evaluation methodologies
- Awareness of Local Authority statutory obligations is advantageous
