Position Overview

Senior Embedded Systems Engineering Leader (Remote, UK)

Are you skilled in low-level embedded systems programming and possess strong leadership and management capabilities? This role offers an opportunity to advance your career within a global Cloud and IoT technology consultancy that prioritizes investment in its workforce and the broader community.

As a Senior Engineering Leader, you will oversee a talented team of 20-30 Software Engineers, with three direct reports in Team Lead positions. Your team will collaborate closely with partners and clients, including silicon vendors, to maximize the effectiveness of the product.

Your responsibilities will include working with senior stakeholders to prioritize project requests, strategizing the development roadmap, and ensuring successful delivery by your team. You will play a key role in shaping the team culture, facilitating technical execution, and advocating for engineering excellence and Agile methodologies. This includes conducting code reviews and fostering an environment of collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Remote Work Flexibility:

This position allows for full-time remote work from anywhere in the UK.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and recruiting skilled Software Engineers within Agile environments.
  • Ability to conduct performance management through regular 1-2-1 meetings.
  • Expertise in low-level programming, including Embedded C/C++, Linux Kernel, and Bare Metal programming.
  • A passion for Open Source technologies and contributions to the tech community.
  • Experience with complex, distributed systems and containerization technologies, particularly Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Proficient in planning, executing, and delivering software development initiatives.
  • Strong collaboration skills across teams and with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
