Chef Job Description

Suttons Manor, a specialist low secure forensic service for men over 50, is seeking a skilled Chef to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and cooking meals for residents, ensuring operational standards meet company Food Safety policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare meals for residents, taking into account special requests and dietary requirements.
  • Ensure food safety standards and kitchen cleanliness are maintained.
  • Supervise catering staff to ensure quality of work meets operational standards.
  • Research and develop varied menus, considering healthy eating guidelines and dietary requirements.
  • Monitor and adapt food production to minimize waste.
  • Experience in producing meals for large groups on time and to budget.

About Suttons Manor:

Suttons Manor is a 13-bedded male unit offering an age-appropriate environment for residents with mental health/personality disorders and/or dementia. The hospital is set in attractive grounds near Romford, Essex, with convenient access to the M25 and public transportation.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
