This salaried primary care dentist position offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership and management skills outside of clinical practice. As a Dental Leadership Fellow, you will work in a practice providing general dental care to the local population, while also developing your leadership abilities through a portfolio of leadership components.
Main DutiesAs a primary care dentist, you will be responsible for providing routine clinical NHS care, without UDA targets. You will also support the host practice and others to become future training practices for Dental Foundation Training. Clinical work will include providing a range of treatments, including restorative treatment, endodontic and periodontal therapy, and oral surgery.
Leadership OpportunitiesAs a Dental Leadership Fellow, you will have the opportunity to acquire, develop, and share knowledge and skills in leadership. You will be challenged to think and behave differently in your leadership roles and will have access to group coaching sessions and a £4000 study budget. You will also have the opportunity to work on projects relating to education and training, and will network with local LDN, MCN chairs, and Regional Chief Dental Officer.

We are looking for a dentist who is fully GDC registered and has or is eligible for full inclusion as a Dental Performer on the National Performer List.
Person SpecificationWe are looking for a dentist with the following qualifications and experience:
- GDC Registered Dentist
- Eligibility for full inclusion as a Dental Performer on National Performers List by commencement of post
- Evidence of professional development since qualification
- Demonstrates understanding of the basic principles of audit, evidence-based practice, and patient safety
We are looking for a dentist who is able to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, shows initiative, drive, and enthusiasm, and has good written and oral communication skills.
