Personal Care Assistant

Job Summary:

Health Your Way is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to join our team in supporting an individual with complex health needs. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to enable our client to live independently and participate in activities they enjoy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all aspects of personal care, including bathing, washing hair, dressing, feeding, and changing.
  • Provide support with continence care, including managing incontinence products and assisting with toileting.
  • Accompany our client to swimming and be in the pool with them, as required.
  • Push a wheelchair and assist with transfers using a hoist.
  • Assist with tube feeding and manage medication, as required.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to our client, promoting their independence and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Experience of supporting individuals with complex health needs, including epilepsy and wheelchair users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and reliability in working hours, including weekends.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to drive our client's van (fully insured).
  • Enhanced DBS check, met by the employer.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate of £12.00.
  • Pension scheme, if eligible.
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave per year, pro rata.
  • Full certificated training on all aspects of the role.

Working Hours:

  • Post 1: Working 2 weekends a month (Saturday and Sunday, 9am-9pm) and Tuesdays (12 midday-9pm). Total of 57 hours per month.
  • Post 2: Working 2 weekends a month (Saturday and Sunday, 9am-9pm), Thursdays (5pm-9pm), and 2 Sundays a month (12 midday-4pm). Total of 56 hours per month.
  • Opportunity to work additional hours on occasions, in relation to holidays and sickness.
