Commercial Glazing Estimator Position

Job Title: Estimator for Commercial Glazing Systems
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at Mitchell Maguire, a specialist Construction Recruitment Consultancy. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for producing estimates for the design, fabrication, and installation of aluminium curtain walling, windows, and doors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review tender documents and produce high-quality tender returns
- Utilize specialist estimating software to determine material costs
- Negotiate prices with the supply chain and gather quotations for projects
- Liaise and build relationships with main contractors throughout the project and beyond
- Ensure that the internal CRM system is regularly updated
- Preparing handover documents for the contracts department, once a project has been secured
- Attending pre and post-tender meetings as and when required
- Estimating for projects ranging in value from £10,000 to circa £1,500,000
- Prioritizing own workload to ensure deadlines are met
Requirements:
- Must have estimating experience within the fenestration market sector
- Ideally will have a strong background dealing with architectural glazing, curtain walling, fire-rated glazing, structural glazing, windows, and doors
- Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings
- Must be IT literate (Microsoft Office)
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Proactive and motivated individual with strong commercial awareness
