As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the student, their teachers, and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Your role will involve providing tailored support to meet the student's specific needs, including personal care, behaviour management, and academic assistance.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to the student, ensuring their well-being and engagement in learning.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and minimize disruptions.
  • Assist the student in accessing the curriculum, adapting materials as needed.
  • Build strong relationships with the student, offering emotional support and encouragement.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Conduct personal care for the student, as required.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs is essential.
  • A relevant teaching assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Ability to de-escalate challenging situations and implement effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Compassionate and patient approach to supporting students.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the diverse needs of individual students.
