Position Overview

Are you a seasoned surveyor in search of a role that provides independence, career advancement, and a balanced work-life dynamic? Altus Group presents an exciting opportunity for a senior/associate level rating surveyor to become part of our vibrant Business Rates Team. You will have the autonomy to manage your own caseload, tailoring your approach to ensure optimal outcomes for our clients.

Altus Group delivers exceptional casework support, featuring advanced technology for data insights, research capabilities, and CAD drawings, alongside dedicated in-house teams to assist clients throughout the appeal process.

Collaborating with a diverse team of professionals, from graduates to directors, this role is perfect for a driven individual who values teamwork. Our team works across various property types, with support from the wider team to minimize extensive travel. You will be empowered to make strategic decisions, backed by cutting-edge technology and resources, to enhance your success and career trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and measurements of client properties.
  • Create detailed floor plans using our CAD software.
  • Manage client cases and formulate appeals.
  • Prepare comprehensive assessment reports; analyze, investigate, and gather evidence for business rates assessment appeals.
  • Maintain and update company records and databases.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, both in writing and verbally.
  • Provide outstanding service to clients, fostering strong and positive relationships while addressing any issues or inquiries.
  • Meet team KPIs while contributing to the overall success of the team and Altus Group.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in rating.
  • A university degree in Real Estate or a related field is preferred, although non-cognate degrees or equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Valid driving license with access to a personal vehicle.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Capability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and CRM systems.
