Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor Job Description

Our client, a leading M&E Contractor based in Hampshire, is seeking a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial activities for projects across Dorset.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Commercial Management: Oversee all commercial activities throughout the design stage, ensuring accurate cost estimation and budgeting.
  2. Tender Bid Compilation: Assist in compiling the tender bid for the submission of the Absolute Maximum Price (AMP) construction of the project.
  3. Sub-Contractor Engagement: Engage with Sub-Contractors and Suppliers during the design phase, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  4. Commercial Coverage: Work closely with the design, pre-construction, and estimating team to ensure comprehensive commercial coverage.
  5. Contract Negotiation: Review and negotiate the Contract with the Client, with support from the senior management team.
  6. Sub-Contract Agreement Placement: Negotiate and place Sub-Contract Agreements with specialist Sub-Contractors.
  7. Interim Valuations: Prepare and submit monthly interim valuations to the Client in line with the Contract.
  8. Variation Management: Manage, value, and agree variations to the Contract.
  9. Payment Notices: Carry out the valuation, preparation, and submission of compliant payment notices to Sub-Contractors in accordance with the Sub-Contract Agreement.
  10. Final Accounts: Agree final accounts upstream and downstream.
  11. Financial Reporting: Produce and present monthly financial reports for the project in line with the company timetable.
  12. Contractual Notices: Review and understand the programme, ensuring correct contractual notices are issued as required by the Contract.
Requirements:
  1. Excellent Communication Skills: Effective communication is essential for this role.
  2. Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial understanding and skills are required.
  3. Project Management: Ability to manage numerous activities across multiple projects simultaneously.
  4. Enterprising Approach: Enterprising, commercial, and planned approach is necessary for success in this role.
Package:

Up to £70,000 salary, £4,500 car allowance, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, private medical insurance, and life assurance.
