Finance Accounting Lead

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a highly skilled Finance Accounting Lead to join their team in Sheffield. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial leadership and guidance to ensure the accurate and timely completion of financial reports and statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial management strategies to improve financial control and reporting across the organization
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including the Annual Statement of Accounts, to ensure compliance with relevant statutes and accounting codes of practice
  • Maintain an internal financial control framework that meets professional and best practice standards
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure systems are in place and maintained
  • Manage and maintain the Fixed Asset Register
  • Ensure Financial Services compliance with Accounting Codes of Practice is achieved and maintained
  • Support the Finance Manager in year-end procedures and processes to produce the annual Statement of Accounts and provide information necessary for the completion of the annual external audit
  • Ensure the accurate and appropriate security and processing of data, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Identify and support continuous improvements to ways of working
Requirements:
  • ACCA / CIMA finalist or qualified by experience
  • Understanding of financial management and legislative and regulatory frameworks
  • Strong communication skills, including presentation of information
  • Professional/technical, analytical and problems solving ability
  • Working knowledge of accounting Codes of Practice
  • Knowledge of procedures required to maintain accurate records of financial transactions
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
