Position Overview

Maintenance Technician (Electrical/Mechanical) (Band 4)

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing tasks that involve intricate and/or atypical electrical and mechanical services. This role encompasses the upkeep and repair of the organization's machinery, equipment, and systems, including fault diagnosis, testing, manufacturing, replacement, isolation, modification, inspection, enhancement, installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical and mechanical services, machinery, and equipment, adhering to established best practice guidelines, operational maintenance manuals, and legal obligations. A proactive approach to all maintenance activities, effective site resource management, and security is essential.

This position operates on a 4 days on - 4 days off - 4 nights on shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician will:

  • Manufacture, assemble, erect, install, and test new systems, services, and equipment.
  • Perform any tasks that may be required in line with the role's grade and expertise, as dictated by the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Conduct fault diagnosis, testing, manufacturing, replacement, isolation, modification, inspection, enhancement, installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical and mechanical services, machinery, and equipment, in accordance with established best practice guidelines, operational maintenance manuals, and legal obligations.
  • Maintain a proactive stance towards all maintenance activities, ensuring effective site resource management and security.
  • Carry out maintenance, repairs, minor enhancements, and capital projects across the organization as directed by management, ensuring adherence to safety standards and procedures.
  • Fulfill this role within a weekly rotating Day/Night shift system.
