Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Leading a diverse team of Agents, Engineers, Works Managers, General Foremen, Technicians, and Operatives.
  • Ensuring exceptional customer service and managing client expectations effectively.
  • Driving project delivery while upholding rigorous Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Maintaining compliance with our Management Systems and ensuring that all necessary plans, such as Construction Phase H&S, Environmental Management Plans, and Quality Plans, are current.
  • Playing a crucial role in Cost Value reporting and forecasting in collaboration with the commercial team.
  • Administering projects in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Ensuring all project activities are supported by appropriate plans and Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Overseeing waste management, lifting, and temporary works to ensure compliance with legislation and company protocols.
  • Conducting weekly site reports and programming updates.
  • Encouraging a culture focused on meeting customer and stakeholder needs.
  • Promoting innovative solutions and value engineering practices.

We Are Looking For Candidates Who Can Demonstrate:

A wealth of experience in civil engineering project management, particularly on significant projects involving highways, utilities, earthworks, and structures. A thorough understanding of the Principal Contractor role, CDM working practices, Temporary Works, Confined Spaces, and Lifting Operations is essential, along with familiarity with various NEC3/4 contract conditions or their equivalents.

Expertise in managing profit and loss (P&L) statements, coupled with advanced communication skills and strong proficiency in MS Office applications. A valid UK driving licence is necessary, as well as a Civil Engineering qualification and certifications such as SMSTS/CSCS or equivalent, including NEBOSH.

Over a decade of experience in civil engineering across multiple disciplines, showcasing strong leadership, programming capabilities, and a proactive approach. The ability to build robust relationships, manage teams effectively, and meet client expectations is crucial, alongside a commitment to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) and effective cost and value management.
