Senior Ecologist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team at Ecology By Design. As a Senior Ecologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality ecological consultancy services to our clients across the UK.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic ecologist to take on a senior role and contribute to the growth and success of our company. You will be responsible for leading field teams, managing projects, and providing expert ecological advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (habitat surveys and condition assessments) and Biodiversity Impact Assessments
  • Prepare quotations and tenders for ecological services
  • Lead field teams and manage projects from start to finish
  • Develop and implement ecological mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their ecological needs and provide tailored solutions
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or equivalent in an ecology-related discipline
  • Experience of phase 1 habitat surveys/ UK Habs and protected species surveys
  • Survey licence for at least one protected species
  • Ability to lead field teams and manage projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full driving licence and use of a car
