Engineering Project Manager

A challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join our client, a leading provider of engineering services to the defence sector. As Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading engineering projects from inception to successful completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, on budget, and to the high standards that clients expect.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all engineering projects from inception to successful completion
  • Act as Technical Authority, ensuring each stage of project receives adequate challenge, review, and signature
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the engineering team, ensuring efficient resource utilisation and the successful delivery of engineering and project objectives
  • Strategically plan short and long-term workload, balancing priorities to meet operational and project deadlines
  • Coach and mentor the engineering team, building a culture of high performance and accountability
  • Quickly provide effective solutions to engineering challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
  • Maintain close liaison with Operations and Sales teams to align engineering activities with overall business goals
  • Act as the primary engineering contact for customers, ensuring requirements are fully understood and delivered
Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience of Project Management or Technical Management in a process-driven, safety-critical environment
  • Strong technical mindset, ideally with knowledge of the Defence/Aerospace industry
  • Results-oriented, capable of planning and delivering projects within set deadlines
  • Proven leadership skills, with a track record of optimising team performance and successfully managing engineering projects
  • Strong relationship management skills, able to engage, negotiate, and influence key stakeholders and suppliers
  • Experience managing project budgets with a commercially astute approach
  • Proficiency in project management software, alongside strong experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
