Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at GENEWIZ. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for improving the efficiency, quality, and productivity of our manufacturing cells, Automated Storage installation, and Commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency
- Lead small teams in continuous improvement activities, develop and coordinate changes to existing production cell layouts, technical assembly & test equipment, and manufacturing strategy
- Use visual management tools to drive improvement in site engagement and productivity
- Work in cross-functional teams on product development projects, promoting Lean philosophy and methods, and Design for Manufacture philosophies
- Develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies
- Interface with design engineering to coordinate the release of new products
- Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements
- Maintain records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations
- Deliver projects on time and within budget
- Investigate, implement, and improve production techniques
- Specify and procure tooling, production equipment, and quality improvements
Requirements:
- Proficient with tools, systems, and procedures associated with Lean manufacturing
- Professionally qualified Engineer (UK minimum HND/foundation degree or equivalent) in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles
- Ability to provide resolution to various problems of moderately complex scope
- Flexible can-do attitude, well-developed interpersonal skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong, proactive communicator and leader who works well within a team environment
