Role Overview

Vermelo RPO is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to drive business growth through data-driven insights and predictive modeling. As a key member of our team, you will leverage advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to develop innovative solutions that address complex business challenges.

With a strong background in data science and a passion for insurance analytics, you will work closely with our pricing, claims handling, and fraud teams to provide actionable insights and drive business decisions. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing cutting-edge predictive models, identifying data solutions that create value, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will have the opportunity to:

  1. Develop and lead the development of advanced predictive models, including risk classification, claims behavior, and fraud detection.
  2. Collaborate with data and pricing teams to identify solutions to complex modeling challenges.
  3. Work with a wide range of data science and statistical techniques to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
  4. Research and leverage new and existing internal and/or external data sources to inform business decisions.
  5. Assist in the deployment and monitoring of predictive models to ensure efficient productization of solutions.
Key Skills and Experience:
  1. Ph.D. or master's degree in statistics, data science, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in data science, with a strong background in machine learning and predictive modeling.
  3. Experience with programming languages such as Python, PySpark, R, SAS, and SQL.
  4. Strong technical knowledge of GLMs, Elastic Nets, GBMs, GAMs, Random Forests, and clustering techniques.
