Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Intervention and Pastoral Assistant to join our team at a specialist school near Reigate. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, aged between 10 and 16 years old.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized support plans
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of the school's pastoral care program
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of mental health principles and practices
