Network Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team at Leidos Innovations UK Ltd. as a Network Operations Centre Engineer. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of network capabilities and prior experience as a Network Engineer on major programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the production network service through availability monitoring, incident resolution, and service request fulfilment.
- Perform network equipment installations and apply and test provided configuration.
- Occasional travel to other Leidos and customer sites may be required, along with out-of-hours support based on a 1-in-6 rota of 7-day periods.
- Identify new and relevant technologies to solve problems and make improvements.
Requirements
- DV clearance or the ability to gain and hold.
- Qualification: Cisco CCNA or CompTIA N+ certified.
- Experience: Working in a Network Operations Centre.
- Documenting processes and procedures.
- Willing to learn and train in relevant network technology.
- Able to comply with security policy as a network administrator.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Able to follow direction from line managers, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Desirable Qualifications
- CCNA Collaboration would be preferable.
- Certification: Foundation in service management such as ITIL.
- Experience with configuration and administration of high-grade encryption devices.
- Experience with DM VPN protocol.
- Experience with network monitoring tools such as PRTG.
- Experience with coding languages such as Python and their use to enhance network automation and monitoring.
- Experience in supporting front-end Voice over IP (VoIP) devices.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
- Experience with configuring and maintenance of Cisco Call Manager.
Location
This role will be based in Herefordshire, with occasional travel to other sites.
Clearance Required
This role will require DV clearance.
