Production Operator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Production Operator to join our team at Inspired Pet Nutrition. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the production of high-quality pet food products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow production directions and ensure products are packed using the correct combination and volumes of WIP.
  • Maintain the highest level of quality throughout the production process, adhering to relevant Food Safety legislation, standards, and requirements.
  • Implement the 'Clean As You Go' policy at all times to ensure the department operates to the highest standards of hygiene.
  • Conduct hourly production checks and report any issues to the Area Shift Leader or Area Manager.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of machinery and equipment, escalating any issues through the appropriate channels.
  • Promote a people-safe culture within the department, complying with policies and procedures, and reporting any safety issues or plant damage.
  • Minimize waste of raw materials, products, packaging, chemicals, and water while undertaking duties within the department.
  • Undertake training and assist with the training of other colleagues when required, acting as a buddy for new colleagues and providing guidance where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role within manufacturing.
  • FLT/Counter balance or reach truck experience is essential, with a valid certificate or license.
  • A good standard of education, demonstrating good literacy and numerical skills, able to understand, communicate, and report clearly in English.
  • This is a physically demanding role working in a warm and loud environment, requiring the ability to lift up to 25kg.
  • Food Hygiene Accreditation is desirable.
