Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Ophthalmic Technician at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive the best possible care.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist patients and ensure a seamless customer journey throughout their experience.
- Undertake ophthalmic imaging and diagnostics, including visual fields tests, visual acuity tests, and OCT.
- Provide support to patients in clinic who may be elderly or visually impaired.
- Record physical measurements, including accurate visual acuity, height, and weight, and vital signs.
- Work efficiently and proactively to ensure the clinic runs smoothly.
- Contribute to a rota with a variety of shifts, including some weekend working.
- Part-time applications are welcome.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Education
- GCSE maths and English grade 4-9 or grade C or above, or level 2 functional skills in maths and level 2 functional skills in English.
Knowledge & Experience
- Dealing with the public.
- Awareness of confidentiality and infection control.
- Working within a team.
