Class 2 Service Driver

As a key worker in our Healthcare Division, you play a vital role in the success of phs. You are the face of the company to our customers, and your excellent customer service skills will help keep them happy and ensure they remain our customers.

As an experienced Class 2 Service Driver in our Healthcare division, your responsibilities will include collecting health-related waste products, such as pharmaceutical, non-hazardous, and hazardous waste. You will also provide support to the nation's Covid testing stations, ensuring our customers' facilities remain hygienic and fresh.

A day in the life of a Service Driver at phs will involve:

  • You will follow planned routes, using PDA devices to confirm collections and manage site access issues.
  • You will operate Soft Compaction Vehicles, designed specifically for our service, which are similar to refuse collection vehicles.
  • You will empty and collect Euro Bins containing offensive waste.
  • You will support Covid testing stations by collecting sealed waste.
  • You will complete hazardous Consignment notes and Transfer notes.
  • You will return to your allocated depot daily to empty the waste from the vehicle.

The ideal candidate for a Service Driver role at phs will:

  • Have a strong focus on safety and legal compliance.
  • Hold a Category C (LGV Class 2) license, a current Driver CPC card, and a valid Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Have a good safety record and no more than 6 penalty points on their driving license.
  • Be open-minded about the products they will be carrying on their vehicle.
  • Be willing to undergo vaccinations against Hepatitis B, tetanus/polio, and Hepatitis A, which are paid for by phs.
