Job Title: Field Engineer

Join UK Power Networks as a Field Engineer and contribute to the delivery of high-quality maintenance, construction, and fault works within our Crawley and Brighton Network Operations area.

Job Purpose:

To work as part of a team within the Crawley and Brighton Network Operations area, liaising with customers, network operations, and control, networks planning, and management of field staff and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safety management throughout all responsibilities.
  • Deliver maintenance, construction, and fault works to time, cost, and quality.
  • Ensure staff comply with procedures and work to a high standard of quality.
  • Coordinate daily planning, resource utilization, and real-time responsibility for efficient operations.
  • Communicate with HV/LV control, submit switching logs, and complete network operations in accordance with distribution safety rules and policies.
  • Update the Asset Database (SAP) with completed work as required.
  • Provide technical support to field staff, manage contract issues, and produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements for project work.
  • Complete quality assurance checks and rectify quality issues.
  • Communicate with customers to meet their expectations and assist other sections as needed.
Requirements:
  • 51,245 = LV Field Engineer/Trainee Engineer
  • 61,723 = 11k SAP (with ONC)
  • 76,229 = 33kv SAP (with HNC)
  • IT literate, including MRS and SAP
  • Current valid driving license
  • ONC Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • NRSWA (City & Guilds) Supervisors certificate
  • IOSH Managing Safely certificate
  • Familiarity with MS Excel spreadsheets
