We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with diverse learning needs in an outstanding special needs school in Enfield.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to children with SEMH needs, including ADHD diagnosis and potential self-harming behavior.

You will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, fostering positive relationships with students, and promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide dedicated support in the mornings, focusing on assisting students with SEMH needs.
  • Offer crucial assistance in the afternoons, aiding students and remaining flexible to work across Key Stages 1 and 2.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and SENCO to implement tailored support plans and interventions.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of SEN, safeguarding, and child protection practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
