Job Overview
The role of the Endoscopy Clinical Specialist, Band 6, is a pivotal position aimed at acknowledging the essential support role during specialized, intricate, and high-risk endoscopic procedures. This position demands exceptional hand-eye coordination, speed, and precision to ensure patient safety. The focus of this role is primarily on clinical procedures, with no managerial responsibilities; however, it encompasses training, education, and service enhancement, allowing for the dissemination of skills to benefit the broader workforce. Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the senior endoscopy team to develop and deliver therapeutic endoscopy services that meet the highest standards of patient care, utilizing evidence-based practices and adhering to national and local protocols.
Facilitate the education and assessment of junior staff to ensure that all relevant endoscopy competencies are executed to the highest standard while maintaining a patient-centered approach.
The post holder will evaluate, plan, implement, and assess care pathways for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures such as ERCP and EUS, and will recognize when to adjust practices appropriately.
