Recreational Activities Facilitator - Meallmore

As a valued member of the Meallmore team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging and meaningful activities. Your position as a Recreational Activities Facilitator involves creating a vibrant atmosphere that promotes social interaction and personal fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute a variety of activities that address the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social needs of our residents.
  • Lead and coordinate group activities, including arts and crafts, games, music sessions, exercise classes, and social gatherings.
  • Assess individual residents' interests and capabilities to tailor activities that are both enjoyable and accessible.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team and families to gather insights and involve them in the planning of activities.
  • Source and manage local entertainers, performers, or volunteers to enrich the activity offerings.
  • Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all participants, making necessary adjustments and providing support as required.
  • Maintain detailed records of resident engagement and feedback for the benefit of families and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in organizing and facilitating activities for older adults, ideally within a care environment.
  • Understanding of person-centered care principles and the unique needs of individuals, particularly those with cognitive challenges.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and strong communication skills to foster connections with residents.
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage schedules, resources, and documentation effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and engage families in the activity planning process.
