Revenue Accounting Manager

Canonical is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations team. As a leader in open source software and operating systems, Canonical provides innovative solutions to enterprise and technology markets worldwide. Our platform, Ubuntu, is utilized in various cutting-edge initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, and IoT.

About the Role:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement standard contracts and financial processes.
  • Drive process improvements for end-to-end automation of revenue life cycle, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead a team of revenue accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful financial operations.
  • Assist in month-end revenue close and reporting, ensuring timely and accurate financial information.
  • Research and write accounting memos, providing clear and concise financial analysis.
  • Act as primary contact for external auditors, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Requirements:

  • CPA, CA or equivalent with IFRS expertise, with a strong understanding of financial regulations.
  • Experience in revenue recognition and scaling accounting processes, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
  • ERP, Rev Rec, CRM experience, with a strong understanding of financial software systems.
  • Strong written and spoken English skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel for company events, with a flexible and adaptable work style.

Preferred Skills:

  • Public company reporting experience, with a strong understanding of financial reporting requirements.
  • Software engineering background, with a passion for technology and innovation.
  • MBA or relevant business degree, with a strong understanding of financial management principles.
