About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Bright Horizons Winchester Day Nursery and Preschool. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, supporting the Chef in food preparation, and ensuring the highest standards of nutrition and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook age-appropriate meals for children, minimizing food waste
  • Support the Chef in maintaining kitchen standards and adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Assist with meal planning and ordering, ensuring dietary requirements are met
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive and safe environment

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a kitchen role, preferably in a domestic or commercial setting
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating habits
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure
