Job Title: Aircraft Production Planner

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Production Planner to join our team at Azenta Life Sciences. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for scheduling and planning work to meet project requirements for the manufacturing and installation of automated stores.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and release Work Orders, ensuring adherence to completion dates, component and capacity availability, and any other resource issues needed to support on-time delivery to internal and external customers.
  • Work with Production to understand manufacturing capacity and detailed timescales, and collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Coordinate and forecast materials requirements to reduce product lead times, and manage daily requirements to create, modify, move or close work orders.
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings to provide updates, solve problems, and take actions as required.
  • Manage Sales Orders for On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery, updating the MRP system to reflect lead-times and achievable deliveries.
  • Analyze root cause of late deliveries to determine corrective actions needed to drive improvement, and develop strategies to monitor OTD and suggest suitable actions for metric improvement.
  • Review and determine the impact of Engineering Change Orders on production, and participate in project teams to provide planning input to structures, build sequences, and best practices for New Product Introduction and new module release.
  • Collaborate with Operation Management on inventory strategy and implementation, and evaluate Plan For Every Part (PFEP) to determine Make to Order (MTO)/Make to Stock (MTS) profiles.
  • Monitor and react to inventory, backorder, and service levels of purchased raw and manufactured finished goods to achieve customer service and business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate material master data in MRP systems, including Material Masters, Vendor Info Records, Min/Max levels, Min Buy, Lot Size, and Lead-Time.

Requirements:

  • Experience of Production Planning within a Manufacturing and Engineering environment.
  • Must have experience of MRP/ERP system use.
  • Strong Excel skills, with intermediate level or higher.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
  • Technically minded with an attention to detail and data-driven approach.
