Position Overview
Please be aware that this is a part-time, term-time position, and your compensation will be adjusted based on the hours and weeks worked.
If you commence your role at the beginning of the standard school term, your initial pay will be modified to reflect that you are not entitled to payment during holiday periods. Following this adjustment, you will receive a twelfth of your annual salary in subsequent payments.
Prior to your first payment, our payroll department will contact you to inform you of the amount that will be deducted.
If you begin on the first day of the term, this adjustment will not apply.
As an Educational Support Assistant, you will collaborate as part of the educational team or specialized service under the guidance of the Head Teacher or designated supervisor, aiming to foster effective learning, teaching, personal growth, health, and a culture of achievement.
Your role will involve assisting teachers in optimizing resources to enhance teaching and learning outcomes, thereby contributing to improved student performance in the classroom.
You will play a vital role in elevating student achievement and ensuring the overall supervision, safety, and care of pupils by supporting their learning journey. This includes working with students who may have additional support needs stemming from behavioral, learning, sensory, or physical challenges, or family circumstances.
Educational Support Assistants engage with students on an individual basis or in small groups across various settings. Flexibility in your approach will be essential to meet the dynamic needs of the educational environment.

This position is classified as Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. You will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to receiving a formal employment offer from Clackmannanshire Council. Further instructions will be provided in your conditional offer regarding the application process. Please note that if your salary exceeds £38,000 per annum, you will be responsible for the application fee, which will be deducted from your initial payment.
