Job Summary:

Compare the Market is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Architect to lead the implementation of enterprise data solutions that support our organizational objectives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of data architecture processes and controls, ensuring compliance with policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Architecture Oversight:
  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data solutions that support organizational objectives.
  • Enforce data architecture policies, standards, and procedures, addressing deviations through appropriate governance and controls.
  • Update and refine data architecture standards to align with evolving regulatory requirements and business needs.
  • Offer expertise on major projects, ensuring alignment with architectural standards.
  • Develop and maintain documentation on data architectures and report on architecture performance and project outcomes.
  • Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and other stakeholders to define and deliver effective data solutions.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Build, manage and mentor a team of data architects, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to team members, fostering skills development and professional growth.
Risk Management:
  • Identify and assess risks associated with data architecture and propose mitigation strategies.
Innovation and Strategy Implementation:
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in data technology to drive innovation within the company.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and approaches for enhancing the data architecture and landscape.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions, contributing insights from a data architecture perspective.

Requirements:

  • Conceptual to physical data modelling; hands-on expertise with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Familiarity with data governance practices, regulatory, and data privacy law compliance such as GDPR or PECR.
  • Proficiency in using cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud) for data storage, processing, and analytics solutions.
  • Strong leadership skills to mentor and guide a team of data architects.
  • Effective communication skills to articulate data architecture strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the implications of AI and machine learning in data architecture.
