Aquilo Recruitment is collaborating with a prominent organization in the construction industry that is seeking a Lead Financial Strategist to enhance their expanding team. This position offers significant opportunities for career advancement and the chance to learn from a highly successful group.


Role Overview:
The Lead Financial Strategist will report directly to the Group Financial Controller and will be responsible for ensuring that the organization executes its financial operations efficiently, adhering to Group accounting policies, processes, and controls.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate closely with the group finance team to ensure the timely completion of month-end accounts, including supporting reconciliations and schedules.
2. Provide support and guidance to the Group Business, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
3. Work alongside the Group Finance team to deliver comprehensive management information that addresses risks and facilitates effective management against KPIs, including working capital management and performance against budget.


Compliance and Reporting:
4. Ensure adherence to regulatory and legislative guidelines, including compliance with external reporting requirements.
5. Prepare, review, and analyze monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate reporting of commercial monthly CVRs.
6. Drive enhancements in management information and reporting, collaborating with both the Group Finance Team and Commercial Departments.


Financial Management:
7. Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accurate prepayments and accruals, and that all reconciliations are completed monthly.
8. Manage all costs, including payroll and overheads, ensuring expenses align with company policies.
9. Collaborate with business and commercial departments to optimize working capital management through improved reporting.


Annual Reporting and Audit:
10. Prepare the annual report and accounts while managing the audit process.
11. Assist in managing external advisors, including auditors and tax consultants, ensuring compliance with all statutory financial requirements.


Team Leadership:
12. Develop and monitor the overhead budget, including re-forecasts and performance commentary.
13. Lead the finance team by delegating tasks, training, setting targets, and managing performance to maximize individual and team potential.

Qualifications:
- Degree and/or postgraduate qualification or equivalent.
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) with over 2 years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong technical skills in general accounting and tax.
- Proactive with a flexible approach to evolving business processes.
- Possess commercial acumen and the ability to challenge financial performance effectively.
