Job Title: Senior/Principal Transport Planner

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Planner to join our team in Liverpool. As a key member of our Development Planning team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the transportation strategies for various projects, including commercial, retail, and residential developments.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing transport strategies and supporting the preparation of transport assessments and environmental statements;
  • Providing technical input into projects, including access strategy work, parking strategies, and sustainable transport solutions;
  • Collaborating with our Highways, Services, Structures, and Environmental teams to deliver large-scale development proposals;
  • Supporting senior staff and developing your own project management, business development, and commercial skills;
  • Staying up-to-date with relevant guidelines and regulations, including NPPF, DfT Transport Assessment guidelines, and Manual for Streets.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Significant experience in transport planning, with a strong understanding of access strategy work, parking strategies, and sustainable transport solutions;
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, project teams, and stakeholders;
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word, with experience in using junction capacity modeling software such as Junctions 10 and Linsig;
  • Chartered status in a transport-related discipline, or working towards it;
  • A strong understanding of the UK transport planning context and relevant legislation.
