Wrexham, Wrexham, United Kingdom Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board Full time

Position Overview

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Podiatrist who is eager to enhance their expertise in Musculoskeletal (MSK) care. This role is part of a newly established MSK-focused Podiatry team within our organization. The primary emphasis will be on MSK care, supported by a highly experienced team leader and access to knowledge in Clinical Musculoskeletal Assessment and Treatment Services (CMATS) and orthopaedics. The successful candidate will operate independently in both community and acute environments, delivering exceptional clinical care.

While the primary focus will be on MSK development, there will also be a requirement for general Podiatry services. We are dedicated to facilitating postgraduate training and qualifications relevant to this role and its development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Function as an independent practitioner, maintaining professional and legal accountability for all aspects of your practice, including the management of all service users under your care.
  • Make informed decisions regarding the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of podiatric care for your patient caseload, which will primarily consist of individuals with complex medical and clinical needs, including:
    • MSK Podiatry
    • Diabetes
    • Chronic neuropathy
    • Chronic diseases
    • Rheumatoid arthritis
    • Vascular insufficiency
    • Wound management/tissue viability
    • Terminally ill patients
  • Deliver care across various primary and secondary care settings, often working in isolation without the immediate support of podiatry colleagues, functioning as a sole practitioner. Supervision will be largely self-directed through participation in departmental briefings and supervision meetings, as well as seeking guidance from peers.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is preferred for this position; applications from both Welsh and English speakers are welcome.
