The young individuals utilizing our services exhibit a spectrum of emotional and mental health issues, ranging from mild to moderate.

As a Level 3 Family Support Specialist within CAMHS, you will play a crucial role in the team, offering consultation, assessment, and evidence-based interventions to the children and young people we support.

The selected candidate will be part of the Citywide Targeted CAMHS team, operating within the community as a member of a multidisciplinary group dedicated to delivering high-quality, brief, outcome-oriented therapeutic interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges, including anxiety, low mood, and behavioral issues.

Key Responsibilities

- Demonstrate knowledge of various theories, models, and methodologies for working with children and families, applying these effectively in practice.

- Maintain a solid understanding of safeguarding matters and apply relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in practice, including the appropriate assessment frameworks and integrated working.

- Conduct assessments and analyze findings to develop actionable plans, ensuring the production of high-quality written documentation and reports.

- Deliver evidence-based interventions to vulnerable children, young people, and families from diverse backgrounds, focusing on achieving positive outcomes.

- Understand and engage in multi-agency collaboration and partnership working, recognizing the variety of services available to families.

  • Experience in mentoring less experienced staff, volunteers, and student placements.
  • Ability to represent Family Community Teams in various forums.
  • Capacity to think clearly under pressure and manage crisis situations.
