Position Overview

Contract Type: Ongoing - Outside IR35

As a Lead Structural Engineering Consultant, you will spearhead structural engineering initiatives and contribute to both building and civil engineering projects throughout various stages including feasibility studies, detailed design, and construction management. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that the objectives of Service Care Solutions are met in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take charge of structural projects, with primary accountability for conducting building structural assessments, performing design calculations, and preparing contract drawings and documentation.
  • Generate estimates and comprehensive reports on projects while undertaking additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Oversee project management activities, monitor performance metrics, establish targets, and ensure the successful delivery of projects in alignment with client specifications.
  • Assist in the formulation of departmental budgets, forward planning, and the development of policies and financial strategies.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and offer expert advice, guidance, and on-the-job training to team members, fostering an environment of ongoing growth.
  • Support the preparation of fee proposals and refine project briefs/plans as necessary to keep clients and stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Ensure that commitments to Health & Safety and Construction Design Management (CDM) are integrated throughout the design and construction phases of projects.
  • Supervise administrative tasks, technical oversight, and the management of construction activities in the capacity of Project Manager or as delegated by the Project Manager.
Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A comprehensive understanding of structural engineering principles as applied in building and civil engineering.
  • Knowledge of civil and structural engineering processes from initial feasibility through to construction.
  • Expertise in structural maintenance, inspection, and assessment.
  • An understanding of financial regulations and corporate procedures.
  • A working knowledge of quality management systems.
