Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Constabulary Armourer to join our team at the Civil Nuclear Constabulary. As a key member of our armoury team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and control of all constabulary weapons and ammunition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure operational serviceability of all constabulary weapons and ammunition, including maintenance and repair as required in accordance with the CNC weapons and ammunition policy.
- Liaise with other employees of the CNC, military personnel, and private sector organisations involved with the provision of services to the constabulary.
- Act as an instructor in specified subjects relating to firearms, including Marine Escort Group and Russian Guard Force Training.
- Research and evaluate new weapons and equipment, including trials and evaluations.
- Maintain armourer competency by attending regular refresher training courses.
- Administer COSHH related to weapon cleaning materials.
Requirements:
- Sound knowledge and experience of a wide variety of firearms and weapons systems, including ammunition, parts, constructions, and specifications.
- Understanding of Firearms Inspection Standards and current Firearms legislation.
- Valid UK driving license, with frequent travel to other sites required.
- Demonstrate experience of inspecting, repairing, and maintaining weapons and equipment, including keeping accurate records and documentation.
- Knowledge of the safe handling, storage, and transportation of ammunition and pyrotechnics.
