Role Overview

We invite you to join our vibrant team as the Materials Testing Supervisor, where your key responsibility will be to ensure the precise execution of laboratory tasks that align with UKAS accredited testing standards.

The successful candidate will operate from our headquarters, contributing to our mission on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and conduct ISO 17025 UKAS accredited laboratory testing, site assessments, and on-site sampling.
  • Manage the laboratory's quality management system, which includes technical procedures, equipment calibration, and internal audits.
  • Guarantee that all testing adheres to UKAS standards and generate test certifications.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and cost-effective laboratory operations.
  • Provide expert material testing guidance to clients and internal engineers.
  • Maintain confidentiality and impartial reporting of customer testing results.
  • Support and uphold the accreditations of friction testing devices, ensuring regular calibration and quality assurance checks.
  • Fulfill the requirements set by the Forensic Science Regulator (FSR) for ISO 17025 accreditation.
  • Oversee compliance with COSHH regulations and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in civil engineering laboratory settings.
  • Practical knowledge of materials testing and pavement management systems.
  • In-depth understanding of UK BS and EN standards for highway construction.
  • Strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and achieve objectives effectively.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH, in laboratory environments.
  • A formal Health & Safety qualification, CSCS card, and a category B driving license would be advantageous.
