Commercial Gas Engineer
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a skilled Commercial Gas Engineer / HVAC Technician (gas focused) to become part of a prominent facilities management organization. This role involves working in various locations, primarily focusing on servicing, maintaining, and repairing an array of commercial heating systems, alongside some air conditioning and related HVAC equipment.
Key Duties:
- Conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding to maintenance requests across multiple sites.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for all maintenance activities within designated locations.
- Ensuring all technical documentation and compliance records are accurately maintained.
- Performing service and repairs on various mechanical systems, including boilers, fans, pumps, air handling units (AHUs), and fan coil units (FCUs).
- Adhering to safe working practices concerning both three-phase and single-phase electrical systems.
- Completing surveys and preparing reports as required by management.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience in a similar mobile role, traveling from home to various sites.
- Proficient in mechanical HVAC systems (including pumps and motors).
- Ability to interact effectively with clients and on-site management teams.
- Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a flexible attitude towards work.
- Possession of a valid driving license, as this is a mobile position.
Compensation Package:
Basic salary plus standby payment, joining bonus, and additional benefits including:
- 45-hour work week, Monday to Friday
- Callout schedule of 1 in 4 weeks
- Paid travel time
- Overtime rates of 1.5x for weekdays and 2x for weekends
- Company vehicle for personal use
- Private healthcare and life insurance
- 33 days of annual leave
Qualifications / Experience Required:
ACS Gas certifications - COCN, CIGA, CORT, ICPN, CDGA, TPCP1, TPCP1A - Essential
Desirable Qualifications:
City & Guilds 2079 F-Gas Category 1
City & Guilds 17th or 18th Edition
