Job Title: Additional Support Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Additional Support Assistant to join our team at Cardiff and Vale College. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing person-centred support to individuals and groups of learners, fostering independence and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centred support to learners, promoting independence and resilience.
  • Contribute to annual person-centred reviews for learners with statutory plans, such as Individual Development Plans (IDP).
  • Act as a role model, champion, and advocate for learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) or Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (LDD).
  • Work collaboratively with staff and other professionals to promote learner independence.
  • Ensure learners are safe and supported at all times.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have 5 GCSEs grade A-C (including Maths and English) or equivalent. Experience of working with people with additional learning needs, learning difficulties, and/or disabilities, as well as experience in education or a care setting, is highly desirable.
