Procurement Specialist

Salary: £25,000-£28,000 per annum
Hours: Full time. Monday - Friday, days regular 37.5 hours a week, start time can be slightly flexible
Main Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer will play a key role in supporting the team with procurement, vendor management, MRP scheduling, quality assurance, new product development, and driving improvement initiatives.
- Using strong commercial and analytical skills, the Buyer will create value for the business through effective negotiation of price, contract, and service level agreements.
Requirements:
- Proactive and flexible approach to the buying role with strong team values.
- Track record of achieving cost-down benefits to the business.
- Excellent internal and external customer relationship and interpersonal skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Team player with strong work ethic and ability to adapt to and drive change.
- Highly numerate and analytical, with ability to analyse and interpret data.
- Commercially minded, with attention to detail.
- Strong organisation and time management skills.
- Self-motivated, with a professional manner at all times.
- Able to deliver at a consistently high level in a demanding, commercial environment.
Education and Experience:
- Educated to degree level - CIPS preferably (or working towards).
- Supply chain or procurement experience.
- IT literate with strong spreadsheet knowledge.
- Experience working with a MRP/ERP and SAP system.
- Experience working in a legislative environment and familiar with procedures/systems.
